Ultramarine Blue
Ultramarine Blue is a saturated, semitransparent, dark, violet-leaning blue.Ultramarine is a complex sodium silicate containing sulfur and aluminum with the chemical formula Na7Al6Si6O24S3. The intense and distinctive blue color is caused by the unpaired electrons in the sulfur radical anion s3-. Ultramarine has heat and alkali resistant properties. It is chemically stable under normal conditions and resistant to high temperatures.The pigment is also resistant to alkaline solutions and can therefore be used in frescoes. It is usually be used as a colourant and optical brightener for plastics, rubber, inks, color painting, textiles, paper, cosmetics, detergents, cement and architecture.Ultramarine's unique property of flocculation—the tendency of its particles to clump up together—give it a lively granulating texture in washes. Pigment Violet 23
Pigment Violet 23 is a transparent purple pigment with high saturation and high tinting strength. C.I. Pigment Violet 23 has better tinting strength in soft PVC, but poor migration resistance. P.V.23 heat resistance above 230℃ in polyolefins. When used in transparent polystyrene, the temperature should be lower than 220°c, above which PV 23 should decompose.
