The difference between organic pigment and inorganic pigment

2021-09-01

1.Different composition
1.1 Organic pigments: azo pigments account for 59%, phthalocyanine pigments account for 24%, triarylmethane pigments account for 8%, special pigments account for 6%, and polycyclic pigments account for 3%.
1.2 Inorganic pigments: inorganic pigments include various metal oxides, chromates, carbonates, sulfates and sulfides, such as aluminum powder, copper powder, carbon black, zinc white and titanium white.

2.Different characteristics

2.1.Organic pigments have bright colors and strong coloring power; Non toxic, but the light resistance, heat resistance, solvent resistance and migration resistance of some varieties are often inferior to inorganic pigments.
2.2.Inorganic pigments are sun resistant, heat-resistant, weather resistant, solvent resistant and strong hiding power, but the chromatography is not very complete, the coloring power is low, the color brightness is poor, and some metal salts and oxides are highly toxic.
